Welcome to the Runners’ Club! As we move into the new millennium, African-Americans are increasingly aware of the importance of entrepreneurship and business ownership in strengthening the economic foundation for people of color. It is now understood, more than ever, that many social ills can be reduced and much social good can be advanced, by the successful application of capitalism. The Runners’ Club is dedicated to increasing the numbers of large-scale African-American owned companies, which as a result, create more employment and economic development opportunities within those communities. The pilot for this unique program was launched in 1996-97 and proved a very successful model for accelerating the growth and development of African-American entrepreneurs. We have now institutionalized this model and have set the infrastructure in place for expansive growth. This website will provide you with information on how we work to further the goal of developing and accelerating large-scale African-American companies. The troika of Focused 'real world' entrepreneurial training, Mentoring, and Access to business networks and capital is elegant in its simplicity and powerful in its application. We invite those African-American entrepreneurs that possess the character, courage, capital, and commitment to build a large-scale enterprise to explore the Runners’ Club opportunity.
