Floyd Graves Carroll II

Floyd Graves Carroll II is a charismatic, motivational speaker on human resource diversity. He is a PhD candidate in Higher Education at The University of Toledo, where he will receive his degree in December 2002. Mr. Carroll has a Masters in Administrative Education from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Morehouse College. Carroll is a certified trainer in True ColorsTM, which focuses on the development of personality theories. Carroll also has a certificate in cross-cultural training with the Institute for Intercultural Communications.

Mr. Carroll is currently the coordinator of the Multicultural Student Center at The University of Toledo. His responsibilities include developing academic and cultural and leadership programs that for African-American, Hispanic, Asian American, and Native-American students. He has also been the director of the Multicultural Center at Eastern Michigan University where he was instrumental in developing an environment that was academically, culturally, and socially enhancing for all students.

Mr. Carroll has given many seminars on cross-cultural communications and diversity which topics include: Perspectives on Managing African –American Greek Organizations, Why are Students Finding Diversity Confusing, Orientation Programs for the 21st Century: A Multicultural Perspective, Across the Color Line, Take A Stand Close Up Theatre, and The African-American and You.

Mr. Carroll has also served on several committees that have provided diversity among its participants that include The 2001 & 2002 Multicultural Student Leadership Institute, The Young African American Professionals Leadership Conference, The Diamante Awards, The Rev., Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Banquet, National Council of Educational Opportunity Associations: National Student Leadership Congress, The African Hispanic Asian and Native American Student Leadership Conference Committee (AHANA), The Illinois Committee on Black Concerns in Higher Education (ICBCHE), and The Midwest Black Greek Leadership Conference. Mr. Carroll is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Dr. Frances G. Carroll

Dr. Frances G. Carroll is an icon in the Chicago Public Schools where she worked for 35 plus years. Her experience covers the spectrum of elementary, secondary and university level education.

Dr. Carroll taught at the primary grade level, the high school level and graduate school level. She was appointed Director of The Consortium of Colleges and Universities. As the Director of Special Education Staff Development and the Principal of the Cook County Temporary Juvenile Detention Center.

Dr. Carroll taught graduate classes as an adjunct professor for 20 years at Roosevelt University in the College of Education. During that time she taught and mentored over 1600 administrators in the Chicago Public Schools. Former students continue to reference her on the vital issues regarding Special Education, Primary Education and Secondary Education.

Throughout her tenure in education Dr. Carroll has conducted numerous presentations on special needs children, the Black Child, Recidivism, Parent Rights and The Principalship.

Dr. Carroll has served as president of The Chicago Council and The Illinois Council For Exceptional Children and she was also the National President of the Black Caucus of Special Education. She serves on the Executive Boards of the Chicago Alliance of Black School Educators, as Vice President of Youth Guidance, Vice President of Theta Omega Foundation of Theta Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

In 1995 Dr. Carroll was appointed as a Cook County Commissioner on Women’s Issues and is currently one of the longest serving women commissioners in Chicago, Illinois. She also holds the position of Director of Christian Education and General Superintendent at Greater Bethesda Baptist Church where she began a Breakfast Program for the homeless in 1989.

Dr. Carroll is currently is a coordinator for the School Achievement Structure Program at DePaul University. Dr. Carroll is the Vice President of Group17 Educational Consultants. A native of Chicago, she holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Roosevelt University. A Masters of Education in Special Education from Chicago State University and a Doctorate in Education from The University of Sarasota.
